Northop Hall Hockey Clubs

Ladies 1st Team play in Division 1 of the Cheshire League. They are a very sociable mixture of youth and experience with a dynamic attacking style. We are hoping to see some great results from this team, in their 8th season in Div 1. The team enjoyed a great run in the Wales Championship Cup, reaching the quarter finals last season. This is the highest tier of the Hockey Wales Cup Competitions

Ladies 2nd Team play in Division 4 of the Cheshire League. This team is definitely on the up after a great season last year, securing their highest league position. They are in the main a young side who have demonstrated outstanding team spirit and the desire to win.  They have twice made the final of the Hockey Wales Challenge Cup, winning it in 2017. They are looking forward to another Challenge run this season

Ladies 3rd Team play in Division 2 of the North Wales League. They are a social team who play on a Sunday. This team is ideal for new players, players who have come back to hockey after some time, and players who like to play at a less competitive standard.

Masters – The Ladies also have a Masters Team for players over 35. This is a highly sociable side, who enjoyed a great weekend in Swansea last season taking part in the Welsh Masters Club Championships. We also have a Welsh International at O45. We are looking to expand the Masters programme at Northop Hall Ladies Hockey Club so all enquires are welcome.

Northop Hall mens 1^st team are a young, vibrant and talented team who have consistently finished in the top 5 with winning records since promotion back to NW Div 3 South (now renamed NW Div 1 South).  They are noted for their expansive skilful attacking playing style.  It is a team with players trying to push to be better as individuals and a group.

Northop Hall mens 2^nd team are the fun team for players of all ages who want to get out on a Saturday and play at a good standard.  It mixes younger players developing their games aiming to get to the 1’s  and  players who have previously played 1’s and above who are looking to slow the pace down a little and enjoy their hockey.  After promotion to Div 6S (now renamed Div 4S) in 2018 the group consolidated last year and are looking forward to pushing on in 2019-20.

Northop Hall successfully added a 3^rd mens team in the 2018-19 season gaining promotion and winning the leauge in the first season. This is our badgers development team with some very good youngsters developed by a group of dedicated older players who have played at a very high level to teach them and bring them on.  It’s a great way to transition from junior hockey to adult hockey.

Indoors teams – driven from experience in the junior sections of the fun to be had in the winter months with indoor hockey though competitions like indooruk, and supported by Hockey Wales’ increased interest in the competition format.  The Mens club are looking to play indoor hockey for the first time in years this season.

Training is at Hawarden High School on Thursday Evenings from 7pm to 8.30pm (TBC).  For 2019-20 we have a new coach and would encourage all teams to come down to develop a style of play which is transferable to all teams.

We have a thriving junior section playing full pitch hockey every Saturday from the ages of 10 up and also monthly 7’s tournaments in North Wales.  Training for all ages and abilities is Saturday mornings 09:45 to 11:15 at Hawarden High School, all are welcome, sticks are provided, all you need is a gum shield and shin pads.  We have our own website where you can find out more.
